b43 and b43legacy. b43 and b43legacy are drivers for the 802.11b/g/n family of wireless chips that Broadcom produces. Note: Broadcom USB devices are handled by the brcmfmac driver.
You need to have firmware files (usually in /lib/firmware/) so b43(legacy) can upload them to the card and run properly.

So I just decided to install Debian on my 2008 MacBook Pro. Everything worked fine up until I used the wifi. My macbook has a broadcom wireless chip, chipset BCM4322. I installed the firmware-b43-installer as per the Debian site recommendations, but to no avail. I saw some other places that in order for this installer to work, I might have to download the driver itself, which has nothing.
